I agree, Michele. She is so professional, imaginative, and right on target with her ideas.

I have been “graced” (no pun intended) by Susan with an initial read, and The Locket is a first-rate mystery that compels the reader to ride along with T.J.–the brilliant, outwardly hard, but inwardly sensitive, small-town Detective. However, The Locket is more than just a mystery: It threads social consciousness and love between family and friends throughout the story; and kudos to Susan Van Kirk for tackling one of the most loaded issues in our society—race. I must give The Locket my highest compliment—It is a wonderful story!
And this is precisely why you are one of my beta readers, Jim! I know you are a effective critic, and these comments are wonderful. Thank you for seeing some of the themes of my new project: a novella. This is my first attempt at writing shorter than a novel in this genre, so I am thrilled with the results. April 10, 2016, it will come out as a kindle ebook from Amazon.
Karen does such a great job! She does all my covers.

How exciting, Susan. I love your cover!
Thanks, Maggie. I think Karen Phillips did a great job!
